Thank for all the replies, I'll look into the Maf sensor, as a fault.
The car was fine up until August when the tax ran out (had lost job so stored it in garage until a few days ago).
I had been starting it regularly, and driving round the cul de sac.
Taxed it a few days ago and insured it.
Since back on road, a few days ago it has developed from just being a loss of performance to also cuting out occasionally at idling speed, sounding like its not firing on all cylinders at low speed (sounds a bit like an original beetle), and today the Code light came on, after I restarted it, after it had stalled. I drove it for a mile without problem, switched it off for a few minutes, and it is ok again now.
It's almost like the cars upset with me for locking it away in the garage for the last few months
Could the maf cause these 'new' symtoms?
PS: Oil and water both look clean.
PPS: When I left it running in the garage at idling speed a couple of weeks ago, it did develop a 'crackling sounding misfire for about thirty seconds after 15 minutes. The car is also running slightly cooler than normal. It's useually always on 90 degrees.
Any suggestions, would be appreciated.
