rear upper balljoint issue

Just got my 2001 Spider back from it annual molesting and I've a note advising that the offside upper rear balljoint has a little play in it.

After counting my blessings that the tester didn't fill it with fag ash or tune the stereo to Sad FM, it passed and by the looks of the mileage, they only joyrode it for an hour, I wondered about replacing said item.

Is it only the balljoint, or has the whole arm to be replaced?
I had a look at the web and see the wishbone with balljoint forsale, but I've seen a wishbone elsewhere without the balljoint, it looks like it bolts to the wishbone.

Any help will be useful, cheers

Re: rear upper balljoint issue

The balljoint bolts (X2) to the wishbone, they are two separate items. However, I can't help you with whether they are available separately or from where. A call to a dealer might give you something to go on.

Best of luck.

Re: rear upper balljoint issue

After recently having to replace mine to pass MOT i found that if you want a new part then you have to buy the whole arm, after having 1 on order with mangoletsi for 3 week and not having the car on the road i opted to buy 1 for £12 off ebay from somebody braking a gtv, a saving of roughly £70, good luck saw 1 on ebay the other day, not sure which side it was for though.
