Re: yet another tyre choice thread
Tyre choice is a personal thing, because there are so many factors in terms of endurance, performance in dry, wet and comfort.
Here are my thoughts and a differening opion.
Firstly I would say stay away from Vredestein, if your after a tyre that handles well and change direction quickly, these are a tyre to avoid and wet weather performance is poor.
As for the Marangoni, the Zeta is a very old design and more of a looker rather than a performer, but if you go for the new mythos range you will absolutely amazed at the performance for the price. They are very good in the wet,low noise and good wearing.
If money is no object and performance is go for the PZero nero. I have had the P7 on as well and great lasting tyre with excellent comfort and good grip with predictable performance. The Mythos is a very good compromise.
The Goodyear F1 I have had on 3 different Alfa's 147, 156 and Spider 916 are just bad. Now mine were made in china/asia and not europe so could explain the difference of opion that I see on this forum.
All of my observations are based on experience. Good luck. Exceelent forum
