Re: GTV 2.0 Tspark Head Gasket gone!!!
Got this latest issue sorted, but it STILL isn't running right by any stretch.
The latest problem was that the far right spark plug (the 10mm plug on piston four) had seperated from the thread of the plug. I was lucky that I was able to get the thread part of the plug out of the head with an Easy Out. So this meant there was a hole coming from the piston, with combustion still happening due to the other plug. It melted the lead from the coil to the plug completely, and about a quarter of the coil..... I have sourced another coil and lead, another spark plug, and replaced these parts. I was a bit annoyed to say the least, as the original plug was brand new as well.
Hopefully now, nothing else will go wrong....
It still doesn't start that easy (probably worse when hot than cold) When started from cold, it seems to r
tickover ok, until the revs drop (cold start cuts out I am guessing) then it runs lumpy. Hunting slightly revving between 500 and 600 RPM.
It will rev fine when stationary, but when driving, it bogs down badly below 2,500 RPM. Above this is fine.....
I have connected all sensors (I think) Throttle body, air flow, air temperature.
Having been through all this, and got this far, I don't want to take it to a garage.
I read on another completely different post about having the ECU reset, would this be necessary, or solve the problem???
But why is it still not starting and running right????
Any help really really appreciated.
