OK. Finally feedback time.........
Things went a bit wrong for the guy who was doing it and he ended up getting a mate to fit it while I was away, but the feedback from his mate said that the bits were *ok*, but took a bit of work to get them fitted correctly. Havent had a chance to talk to him yet to see what exactly the issues were but think he meant general alignment issues.
Picked it up this evening and took it for a spin and its great to be able to drive it again without having my ears burst open, but alas, I feel it has lost the full Alfa rasp that was previously there
Sounds slightly milder and tamer now and could be *any* other car!! Ok, its not exactly that
bad, but it definitely doesnt have the same Alfa note I remember before the exhaust went.
Having said all the above, the reason I fixed it was to get it through the NCT/MOT and sell it on and try another Alfa, so for the money I paid, I am very very happy and would go back to them again in similiar circumstances.
I suppose the best test will be the AO Ireland meet coming up in October. I'm sure there will be plenty of heads there to give their opinions as Alfa drivers and as people who can tell the difference between the sound of gas being disposed of from an engine, or an Alfa Romeo!!
