Re: Temp warning light sensor
Okay, I have spend most of the day fiddling about with this. If I disconnected the temperature sensor in the engine bay, the fan turns on at full speed, the engine management warning light comes on and the temp gauge saits on its needle. There is no warning light on though.
I swapped the whole gauge assembly with the one in my 156. My 156 gauge exhibited the same problem when in the GTV and the GTV one worked fine in the 156.
While I had both dashboards in bits, I put a voltage meter on the warning light contacts. The 156 when hooked up showed 0v except at self check time.
The GTV showed 7.5v to 13.8v in time with the flicker. 7.5 when the light was off, 13.8 when it was on. This flickering is extremely constant, the rate changes, but the voltage flicker is always the same, off it is 7.5v, on 13.8v. I put my 156 dashboard back together, it is again working fine with its original gauges.
