Skimping on tires and breaks isnt a great idea, as people have said they are the only thing that will stop you and keep out of trouble.
Also, not trolling here, but Im really not a fan of Toyo proxies, I had some on the rears of a BMW 325ti I once owned and only got 5k out of them before they where shot. Dunplop SP sport Maxx's or 9000's have always done the bis for me.
Currently have Good year eagle NCT5's all round on my 156 and they are awesome in the dry, but a bit too twitchy in the wet, so they will be changed soon enough.
