alarm assistance needed please

Well, Ive taken posession of my 1997 GTV today, and It's as good as I hoped it would be.. Typically a couple of issues have already arisen ,if anyone could shed some light, It would be most appreciated..

Firstly The car has come with 4 keys ( 2 red with emblem, 1 red without emblem and one brown ) and 3 square alarm fobs ( black with the alfa motif ebossed into the press pad )

1 fob works fine but the others do nothing although I have changed the batteries on them.

Is this going to be a dealer job to get them to work or is there a way of doing it manually? ( I have both the electrical and mechanical codes ) ,I do have 2 of the fob codes I think if they are 4 digit

Secondly, the drivers window doesnt sit properly when the door is shut, it appears to sit on the outside of the rubber where it should sit on the inner side when the door is closed, ( i.e shut door and press window toward the car! from the outside) is this an easy fix? or is it a door card off job and try and adjust it? and is it do-able?

Re: alarm assistance needed please

If it's the infra-red type of transmitter (which I think it will be), get a digital camera (or even a mobile phone camera) and point the transmitter at the lens and see if the camera picks up the IR flashes (try it with the known working one first).

They're quite prone to the LED breaking off the circuit board inside (happened to mine). Just re-solder it back on (make sure it's the right way round).

If all the fobs are flashing, the working ones aren't matched with the car, I guess.

Don't know about the window, but I think it's been discussed in this forum before.

Edit: Here the post I did on the LED issue a while back
