CV boot replacement
I've got the MOT coming up and I've noticed that both the CV boots are split (in actual fact I'm a ham fisted chump who ripped them while gently bashing in my new wishbones the other week). I patched them up with a bicycle repair kit which has worked surprisingly well but I guess they'll still fail the test.
I decided to get the work done by someone else this time as it looks like a bit of pain getting the hubs off and, as this story is testament to, I seem to end up breaking more than I fix when I work on this car...plus its cold and i've got alot of work on.
The quotes I've had are between £160 and £188 + VAT for both sides. does this sound reasonable? I thought it was a bit steep but I guess its a few hours labour. Would it be much more to have the whole joint done? it might be worth it incase any grit has gotten into them?
