Supposedly the 50p shape is down to poor tyres. It happened to me with some Avons, and I've heard it happening on Goodyears, and this problem isn't just confined to GTVs either. One GTV owner reckons worn shocks cause this, maybe in conjunction with certain brands of tyres – maybe some are 'softer' than others? Anyways, I've now got Michelin PS2's on the back, and if they start going a funny shape I'll change my shocks too.
I noticed a rumble at speed and a shake of the steering wheel at high speeds, and that was when I found my rears '50p' shaped...
