So you've removed two silencers with your new back section? It sounds surprisingly restrained on your video (Sounds nice mind!
Yep, sounds quite drastic going from 3 to just 1 silencer but it works well and thankfully doesn't sound chavvy – at least I hope not!
I reckon the V6 rumble makes it sound purposeful and serious. I took advice from Alfa Aid about what to do, they've obviously done tons so I listened to what they said.
In what way does he prefer yours? Is his too loud? Has he removed the cat as well with his straight through center section?
This was said before I did mine, so the conclusion I had was that his wasn't quite loud enough or different from a standard set-up.
Sorry for the questions, am debating what kind of setup to get for mine but don't want anything too loud, and especially not boomy while cruising.
No problem, it's a big decision! If you can, try and hear any other GTVs with modified exhausts, if you're ever near north London let me know... I took a day or two to get used to mine, or rather to fully like it. At first it sounded way too loud INSIDE the car, but just right from outside the car, and maybe a touch boomy too. Either I've got used to it very quickly and/or the exhaust is settling down, as I'm liking it more and more. I needed some friends' opinions on it too; thankfully they love the new sound
. The whole point of the video and letting my cousin drive it was for me to hear what it sounded like to others as no way would I have kept it if I thought it sounded like a chavved up Saxo!! I'm looking forward to a long run to see how it sounds, but I won't be doing that for a week or two I think.
Thanks for the vid, shame the car park wasn't a bit bigger so you could have given it the beans
Yeah, that was a great find! At the pace we were going it soon felt a bit smaller than it looked
