High Idle Speed
I know there are threads on this, I have just read through most of them but didn't find a definitive answer yet..
We bought the 1999 TS Spider last week, I had to put a new (genuine) MAF on over the weekend and that went well..no problems at all.
YesterdayI drove it to a local Indie for a ambelt/variator/service/plugs type deal..and the throttle body was taken off & cleaned as it was 'hunting'.
Well, £718 later I got in the car and drove it home.. Unfortunately I assumed that the 1500 RPM idle would settle...
100 miles later it's still doing it (in fact it idles at 1800RPM now). I checked for air leaks on all of the inlet pipes (there aren't any), disconnecting the MAF makes no difference and my wif's getting very frustrated (it's her car)..
I have not tried the 'battery off ECU reset' - that's probably next on the list - what do you think my chances of success are and if low what else should we consider?
The Indie has said it'll settle on its own in a couple of days - is that likely?
