gtv won't start when warm!! help!

Hello all,

I haven't been on here for a while, mainly because my gtv has been running fine with no issues.
Sadly i am back with a problem!!!

The car will start fine when cold, but once warm it won't start again until it cools down! its not a flooding problem as there is never a smell of petrol, it just seems like there is no spark!

Any ideas anyone???

Cheers Steve

Re: gtv won't start when warm!! help!

Faulty crank sensor, faulty fuel pump relay or million other possibilities, I have been trying solve this for four months now but my car also keeps stopping when hot while driving (no fun at all, lucky I haven't got killed yet...). I found that my car has problem with the fuel pressure when hot but strangely it seems to be somehow related to the alarm I installed two days before my problems started. But again it is only one of theories and can be wrong as many other theories my garage came with. I will see in next few days...

Faulty crank sensor is the usual culprit. I would change it first.

Re: gtv won't start when warm!! help!

My GTV has just spent just shy of 6 weeks in the garage with what turned out to be a dodgy throttle position sensor. The offending part was replaced with a brand new one, which convinced the ecu but not the car itself. Only after referring the problem to an auto electrician was it discovered that it was the replacement part that was faulty and thus re-replaced. There was talk of a worn crank sensor as well but the throttle position sensor seems to have been the villain of the piece. Get her back on Weds, fingers crossed!
