Re: Fitted New Clutch and Q2! New Tyres?
My first set of GS-D3s were great. Lasted approx 18K miles and in fact, even though I have now replaced the whole set, none were because they had worn too low from general use. Back two were stepped from dodgy shocks and the fronts had worn in centre from dodgy supermarket tyre inflation gauge.
I replaced the whole set about 2 months ago. Annoying really because I did the front two first and then found the problem with the rears. Had I known I was going to have to change all 4 I might have done differently.
I'm happy with the grip, road noise is better than the P7000s I had previously (IMO) and they look fantastic. However, the biggest problem is availability as they are supposedly on run out and a lot of fitters no longer seem to hold them as stock items (at the time Blackcircles had stopped stocking them although they now appear to have them again!). This was particularly evident when, only two weeks after fitting the rear pair, I drove over a rivet. Trying to find a replacement on a Friday before a bank holiday weekend was impossible and I had to wait until Tuesday to get a new one. Prices are also going up as a consequence.
I will probably change to something else next time, possibly the Assymetrics which I am told have replaced the GS-D3s, maybe a different brand altogether.
