Re: 98 super or 95 average
Still not convinced it's cheaper although it may be better for your engine over time..
A little calculation:
(based on prices near me)
112.5 per litre regular for 70 litre tank is £78.75 to fill up.
119.1 per litre for 98 for 70 litre tank £83.37 to fill up.
Difference is £4.62
3.78 litres to a gallon so if you are on 25mpg then you get 6.61 miles per litre.
If you made at best (for example) a gain of 2 mpg using 98 then you would get 7.14 miles a litre.
so regular gives 6.61 x 70 = 462.7 miles
98 gives gives 499.8 miles
difference is 37.1 miles at a cost of £4.62.
£4.62 regular fuel would give you 4.10 litres which is about 27 miles.
So your gain using 98 is actually only about 10 miles.
If you used redex (which lasts a few tanks) I reckon you can pull off a similar mpg, clean your fuel system and save a little cash.
To err is human, but you need an Alfa to really screw things up!
The road to heaven is paved with old Alfa's.
