Lusso Hood Motor

I have read everything, so hopefully someone can simply answer the following:

Does a manual spider hood have an electric rear cover (the bit which requires the ever reliable motor and plastic cog?)

And can you buy just the plastic cog to fit the motor?

Thanks all in advance.

Re: Lusso Hood Motor

You can rotate the cog 180 degrees to engage unbroken teeth if thats the problem, dont think the cog is a spares item.

Re: Lusso Hood Motor

unfortunately the teeth broke off, jammed the worm drive and after taking the motor apart realised the internals for the cog were completely destroyed.

The cog can still turn, but the black insert which houses the metal pin is physically not linked to the cog anymore...My plan prior to forking out for a new motor is to, create a solid plastic component by fusing the two parts of the cog together with epoxy and a precision placed pin.

Thoughts anyone? i will also enquire about having a metal cog fabricated in a batch to cure all our woes!
