I have had my 97 GTV for about three years, and in all that time the fuel gauge has never dipped below three quarters, given the price of petrol nowadays, that would be great if it was true. When I fill it up, the needle goes about 5mm past the full mark, and then gradually falls to only the three quarter mark, whereupon the low fuel light comes on. I always use the trip meter, so luckily have not had any problems yet.
As the low fuel warning light always works, would this be a gauge problem or a tank sensor fault?
Don't you just love Alfas and the problems they throw at you?
