Window motor problem

I have a 2001 GTV and the drivers window has decided to give up. I'm assuming that it's the electric window motor. I'm not sure where I might be able to get a replacement motor.

Any ideas? How much should I be paying for a second hand motor?

How easy it to replace?

Any help or suggestions welcomed.

Many Thanks

Re: Window motor problem

Hi, The window winder motor and assy come as one bit. Last year EB quoted me about 120 for a new one but I finally got one S/H for about 50. Try places like and similar, a google will give you a list and one site, cant remember which, ( google again ) lets you put in what you want then a few breakers will give you a quote.

Do a search on here about fitting it, it's not difficult but there a coupla of potential pitfalls, particularly about the routeing of the bowden cable between the inside handle and the door lock. If you get this wrong you'll think the lock has busted as even the key wont turn the lock....I know, been there, done that !

Not a difficult job, a bit fiddly but that's it. Search the Threads on this lounge for help.
Good luck.

Re: Window motor problem

The motor for 2001 cars may be one with the auto-drop on door closure or not. They are different incompatible parts. I couldn't get the right one so ended up buying from the dealer at about 150
