unplugging a maf

reading through the forums I've identified that i've probably got a fault with my maf, and instead of paying out for a replacement, fitting it, and then seeing if this corrects the problem, i just want to unplug it and see what it drives like. now i know this is a real newbie question, but can i just unplug the socket and drive it, or is it a bit more complicated, i.e remove it completely. any help would be great

Re: unplugging a maf

With the ignition off, just unplug the MAF, then start and go for a drive.

You may find it running poor at low revs, but if your MAF is faulty it should be better at higher revs under load.
