Re: GTV Gearbox problems HELP!!!!

1st check - when the engine isn't running, is the problem present? If so, then it does seem like a gearbox issue....but its unlikely in all gears.

If its OK without the engine running, then best guess - clutch slave cylinder weak. Get someone to watch the movement of the cluch arm as the pedal is depressed - and ideally see if it can be levered any further....also check if there is any evidence of fluid leaks. If this appears to be the problem - slacken the bleed screw and operate the clutch pedal - preferably with a tube on the bleed screw to catch the fluid into a container - if there is a strong pulse of fluid then the master cylinder is OK and the slave cylinder is the culprit - good - its easy to change. If it seems the master cylinder is weak....bother! They are a pain to change...Let's just hope its not that....

Good luck!
