Re: Should i buy her?
well I got the chance to have a look at the car today and take her out for a quick spin. Must say i was very impressed with speed, handling, and overall feel of the car. This really is a great sports coupe. So different to the 4 door saloon i'm currently driving.
There doesnt seem to be any major issues with the car. THe engine reved well, idiled arround 900 rpm, it shifted up through all the gears nicely, and there didnt seem to be a knocks or noises from the suspension.
I checked oil, it was at the max level and no signs of water contamination, also checked the coolent and again no signs of oil.
the list of issues the dealer "assured" we would be taken care prior to delivery were the following.
right side fog light cracked -- replacement required.
cam belt change required
full service required
airbag warning sensor light on
small chip in windscreen
2.0L badge is missing "0" -- replacement required.
stereo head faulty -- replacement requred.
This car is on for 5k, providing these issues are taken care of am i getting a good deal??
The other issues/questions i have is that it seems the 60k service was skipped (log book entry does not have a stamp, etc, for work carried out), there are no receips or invoices for any repair work, or any evidence of any reapirs. when i first started the car lots of water was comming from the exhaust, although the dealer mentioned this was probably due to the fact the car had been standing for a while, etc, it smay be worth mentioning that the water was clean.
i'm still not sure about this car... i made my mind up i want an alfa GTV, i've got about 5k to spend. i just dont know if i want this one, just hate the though that i'm getting a bad deal and ripped of.
