This weekend I had a problem on my Spider which started with the rev counter not working. The car then refused to start with the key code and injector lights staying on. I eventually traced the fault to a white connector block behind the radio which I got to through the side panel in the passengers footwell. There had been a tiny leak of coolant from the heater dripping down onto the connector causing a poor connection. Cleaning all of the connections cured the problem. Might be worth a look if you have unexplained key code problems - before you have to spend any money.
