Re: £1500 GTV can it be done?
The only advice I would give you is don't worry about age or mileage, go for one that has been cared for, don't get a V6 'cos the cambelts are even dearer to change.
You can often find a bargain where someone is having Kids and needs to change, and babys on the way, or in an area where people aren't prepared to travel to look at it, I think I would be in that position because everyone for miles around in my area wants diesel cars...
And when people see Wales (or Scotland) on your ad, they think its the other end of the world.
Also take someone who knows cars with you, some faults can appear off putting at first, but may be worth living with, eg if the A/c on an older car is knackered, it may not be viable to fix it.
My car stalled while I was messing around with the air intakes, When it was all reconnected, the injector light was on.....
So I did an ecu reset, and the light went out, if the fault is still there the light will stay on.
I wouold also aim to spend under your budget, and keep a few quid for any problems that may arise....
Keep us informed.
