i bought a 1999 gtv a few weeks back....1999 model, 2.0 ts. (not lusso model).
it cost me 3.5 k, and looked to be in pretty good shape.
however, the dealer had "promised" that it had had a full service, before selling to me (there is no service history).
within a few days, the radiator sprung a leak....i know this could just be an unfortunate coincedence, and to be fair, i took her back to the dealer, and they replaced, free of charge.
I had already kind of planned to send her to a specialist, which I did afew days after the replacement radiator, and all the usuals have been repaired, for my own peace of mind (front and rear suspension, cam belt and variator, and other wee bits and bobs). the cost of these repairs is around 1k, and will bring her "up to scratch". the specialist has commented that the car is in generally good condition though, which gives me some comfort.
my question is this: the total cost of the car is really 4.5k, for a fully serviced, good condition alfa gtv. is this too much, accounting for age and mileage?
I am half thinking of going back to the dealer to get some cash back (I doubt this will happen, but it is worth a try).
value for money then?
PS: i absolutely love this car...best drive ever, and although i may have been "done" to one extent or other, I wouldn't sell her on for anything!
