There are a few of things that can cause squeaking when the steering wheel is rotated. You'll need to remove the top and bottom steering column covers.
Firstly there is a slip-ring electrical connector. If dry the sliding contacts can squeak. Vaseline is probably best for this.
Secondly (and this was the casue in my case) there is a steel dowel pin to the right of the slip ring that i believe is the steering wheel lock. The dowel rubs against a steel flange face (with holes in). A squirt of WD40 will cure this.
The third thing is the steering wheel shaft bushings. I'm not sure how you access this as its housed deep inside.
