Re: Airbag light Reset
The annoying thing is i have an EOBD code reader and no socket on this car. Bought for a previous vauxhall with lots of idel faults. But i have been told that the P1 comes with a three pin socket so no wonder i cant find a EOBD socket. So where do i find a code reader for the alfa or will the alfadiag software coupled with appropiate lead nd laptop allow me to reset the airbag light of which was caused by moving the steering wheel while removing the instrument cluster to replace the bulbs.
Also i have read on here that the airbag light does not deactivate the airbag system and that it still works regardless, the lights an indication of a fault being reported on the system at some point.
Jay w, the info on shorting pins was from a post contained within this forum. if you think about it what is the code reader, reset doing but sending a number of pulses, so dont rule out the potential to short out certain pins. You say whats an hours labour, but i dont want to spend an hours labour that i have to move my steering wheel to full rack or the seats are moved while the ignition is on, would you? at least £40 a pop and some people say they have paid up to £100.
