I have been trying to track down the cause of my speedo fault for a couple of weeks now. Looking at the manual, I reckoned the fault to be with the speedo sensor and thought I would take it out to have a look. However, I am now a little confused. The manual suggests there are three wires from the sensor(L17), so when I went to find this sensor I was rather surprised to not find any wires at all. Instead, I found one big 'wire' (highlighted yellow in the first picture) which I can only assume is the speedo cable? I also noticed the connector(blue) when seems to correspond with the 3 wires I was expecting. I traced this wire to the top of the dif(blue in second pic) and am beginning to think that this is the sensor. To orientate yourself with the second picture, the yellow hoop is, I think the dif level stick and the pink dot is the nearside wheel.
Can somebody please explain to me what these two items are? are there two speed feeds? http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o.../IMG_2023A.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o.../IMG_2002A.jpg
I have now confirmed what you have said, the second picture contains a picture of the speedo sensor, the first picture displays the reverse gear release cable.
I thought the reverse cable was hard to get a spanner on, let alone the speedo sensor!
