Quick Clutch Question

Hi, I just picked up my 2001 2.0 GTV and have a quick question about the clutch:

When you press the clutch peddle it's quite light until you get near the biting point when it starts to get heavy, go passed the biting point and it gets reasonbly light again. If you are driving "progressivly" and go for a quick gear change the car seems a bit slow to engage the gear..

I asked the stealer about this and he said it was normal, I'm not convinced. Has anyone else experienced anything like this ? Am I looking at a new clutch in the near future ?

Cheers, Jon.

Re: Quick Clutch Question

light clutch is normal, I never really hang around too long on the biting point, so I can't tell you exactly what that's like.

Sounds ok to me...

Re: Quick Clutch Question

Mines pretty light all the way through the travel of the pedal - can't say I noticed a heavy spot around the biting point.
