gtv v6 clutch

hello to all on here im new to this site...iv got a r reg gtv v6,iv only had it 4 weeks and it needs a clutch in it..the local garage told me that the dual mass flywheel needs replacing aswell,iv tryed to get one but with no joy...iv read a post on here some were saying that you can put a 156 solid flywheel and clutch kit on the gtv v6,can anyone on here tell me if this is the case please,o yea and the gear stick housing fell apart after 3 days.....i dont realy want to sell the car as its the first alfa iv had and i love it to bits,but i dont want to lay out loads of money if things are starting to go wrong...please help me

Why do you need a flywheel? Have they stripped it out and had a look at it? Lots of places say you NEED things when you don't, try getting a second opinion, unless they've taken your flywheel out and it is indeed buggered..

Alfa's aren't cheap to run though, you need to consider that this car might cost you up to £1000 a year in maintenence, if luck doesn't run your way.

Try Alfashop in Norwich for spares, They quoted me 135 for a clutch kit and around 300 for my flywheel (which was knackered).

I quizzed my specialist on this when I was having my clutch done (luckily the Flywheel was perfect)...but he said it was a bad idea, cant remember why now

thats the route i'm heading. lots of recomendations including peak alfa and a few other indies. says its cheaper and more responsive swapping it out for the solid version
