Spider Hood Problem - Please Help!!
I've searched the archives but can't find any reference to the type of problem i'm having with my electric hood.
The problem is with the hood cover catches - they function but do not appear to conplete the rotation required to fully lock the cover - halting the hood up/down process and turning on the flashing red LED.
e.g Hood Closing Procedure:
1. Press button
2. Cover raises
3. Hood Raises
4. Cover Closes
5. Latch motors rotate the latches
6. Loud grinding noise at the end of the 'latching' process, everything stops.
When using the manual controls for the latches I can see the latches rotating as expected, however the grinding noise still happens at the end of the cycle.
Could this be a micro switch? Jammed motor? Connection issues?
I did wash the car just before lowering the hood (the last time it worked), could it be something as simple as wet/damp connections?
Also, how do I get up close and personal with the motor?
Any help appreciated!!
