Sidelight not working

Hi Guys
Some help would be gratefully appreciated.
Noticed the other day that my front nearside sidelight was not working. So at the weekend put a new bulb in and turned on the ignition to check, and again still not working.
I removed the block that the bulb fits into and gave the connectors a clean in case they were corroded, re-connected and tried again still nothing!
Any thoughts??
Regards
Colin

Garage
Actually i would put the other sides bulb in that is working in the none working unit and see what happens, Likewise i would put the none working bulb in the working bulb again to see what happens,

it just proves that working and none working is your real fault.................and given age of car i would not rule out earth and wiring as possible cause

ok home now. Ive had a look at the owners manual and each side light is controlled by a different fuse so your first step is to check fuses 22 & 23. if those are ok then the relay you want to check is F
Fusebox is under the steering column
