Front Wishbone

Had a call from the MOT test centre earlier and car failed on these areas ..

Number plate bulb ... that seemed like an ok start ...
Rear brakes pads on the metal.
Front wishbone?? Apparently broken away on the drivers side??

Total cost including MOT approx 380 ...

Pads and fitting about 110 I believe. And wishbone replacement approx 210?? Does this sound about right.

First time owning a GTV and just want to make sure I'm keeping the cost down as much as possible without compromising too much on quality. Any help appreciated.

Re: Front Wishbone

Rear pads are dirt cheap too and easy to swap. I just did my fronts and it cost me less than £30. And I am a ten thumbed numpty when it comes to car repairs. The rears arnet quite as straight forward as you need a tool to turn the pistons back into the caliper BUT I reckon that you could get away witgh doing the pads yourself with the cost of buying the tool for around £50. You could easily do all of the work yourself for under £100 and at the cost of a few hours labour.
