V6 spider pipercross induction kit feedback

Hi-Is there any advantage going with the pipercross induction kit as opposed to just the air filter?
Ive heard pros and cons-great sound more air etc and on the negative side-some induction kits-not necessarily pipercross (which have dry filters) causing the maf to play up with oil ingress etc.
Anybody help?
Thanks

Before when I was reading into the induction kit threads it read as its possible the filters which are largely oiled (Like a PiperX Foam Filter) cause the MAF to fail prematurely. A fair few people seemed to be happy with their BMC enclosed kits however with no issues. I would of thought if this was the case, the PiperX would be the one to avoid.

The Pipercross was developed in conjunction with Alfaholics, so I think they pre-empted the MAF issue. Well, aside from the standard rusted studs issue, the filter is in and it is definitely more growly in the cabin with a slight increase in throttle sharpness. The old filter looked pretty clogged so the performance increase could be attributed to that!

Reading about the PiperX air filter for stock airboxes on their site it does mention about it being designed for the GTV MAF. Sounds like the induction kit should be fine.

From Alfaholics: It is designed not to be oiled (unlike other aftermarket filters) and therefore will not damage the delicate hot film air-flow meter fitted to these cars. As used on the Alfaholics 3.0 GTV.

Do you have any pics of the kit fitted?

To my understanding all Pipercross air filters are dry-type.

Forgot to ask-did you go with the filter or the induction kit?

If you do manage to get a pic, maybe a short video to?

The PiperX filters I have used on other cars have all been oiled (Pipercross Performance Air Filters) though the correct GTV one isn't oiled so no issues there for us owners.

No Pics sadly. It was just the filter as I wanted to retain OEM looks :-)
