Alfa GTV 916 MK1 Airbag warning lamp

Dear friends,

I have read many threads about airbag warning lamp in GTV which is caused by seat bel pretensioner connector.

I have a phase 2 which has EOBD connector over fuse box. I have deleted this trouble code with Multiecuscan several times, with no trouble.

BUT, I have too a phase 1 whose airbag warning lamp is on. Following one thread, I have found airbag control unit (TRW) and its three pins connector. I bought in Amazon three pins adaptor, but I have not clear if I should follow any special step before connecting to 16-pin adaptor and Multiecuscan. I have seen several comments but are quite confusing for me (cutting some adaptor cables and something like this...). There are too two clamps for positive and ground that I donīt know if I should use or not...

Thanks in advance for your help!!

You have to cut te L- line. It's the blue/white wire that goes to the 3 pin connector on the short cable from the airbag ECU. You need a fairly recent registered copy of multiecuscan too

Isnīt it better to cut adaptor cable instead carīs wiring? Adaptor costs 3€ and we are not damaging the car. Do you know what is the purpose of L-Line between adaptor and airbag unit?

Do you know why is necessary to cut this?

Last question :P: when should we use the two clamps included in 3-pin adaptor?

It might be needed to connect to other ECU's. Don't know why. Connect the clips to the battery. Don't think it matters what order you connect the leads up.

I wouldn't have my head any where near an airbag when doing any of this. I ve never had a problem but better safe than sorry.

Fortunately, airbag module is bellow rear seats, so itīs quite far .
Do you know why is necessary to cut this line? It should have a purpose if manufacturer installed it there...

It might be needed if using Fiat examiner software that a dealer might use.
