Breakfast Meet 8th Oct: Hampshire, Berks, Surrey

I know some people don't like events posts in this forum but less people read the events board and more people read this......

This will be our third (and probably final for the year) Breakfast Meet up at the Departure Lounge Cafe, Alton, Hamps (GU34 4BH). At the first meeting there were six of us. Earlier this month that had grown to 12 cars, including two distant cousins in the form Lancia Delta Integrales. Bearing in mind two Alfa people managed to get the days mixed up and turned up the next day, it means we would have had 14 cars! There are several 916s, including three Cups, now regular attendees. We were accompanied by a few 156s, a Giulietta and even a 145 Cloverleaf (see photo). The guy who brought his Fiat Coupe to the first meeting thinks he might bring his 355 to this one (weather permitting)!

The Departure Lounge is a great venue because the guy lets us park up in formation on his grass field and reserves us a table, food is good too. It is a great way to meet fellow Alfisti, look over other cars and talk all things Alfa/Italian.

We want to build this into a large and regular monthly meet from Spring to Autumn. So if you came last time please do come again and if you didn't and you live within reasonable distance you are more than welcome. There is more than one person who has an hours drive to get there so people are coming from far afield.

Saturday 8th Oct, Cafe opens at 10am but people start arriving from about 9:15am.

Actually, you would have had 15! becasue as well as myself in The GT, I had arranged for my mucker Barry to drive my GTV.

so I will see you on the 8th, likely with both the GT and the GTV...and I won't get the day wrong this time!!

Good work James,

I'll be there if I can be - it is my Birthday, so plans may be made for me!

It was great last time.

Am I allowed if I'm from herts?
re: posting meets on this section. I only mentioned it as I know others have been told off by the mods. I myself have no problem and am not a moderator.

Hi,

I'm planning to come down from north Somerset if it's dry and barring the spider developing any new mechanical maladies. It'll be worth the drive to talk 916s with other owners.

That's pretty good then. Traffic is quiet-ish at that time. Takes me an hour, 20 mins of that is getting out the edge of London.
Hopefully see you there.

Sat 8th Oct -The Breakfast Club

Hi All

So with only a week to go and looking forward to The Breakfast Club@The Departure Lounge. hopefully for the last one of the year we can get quite a few Alfa's & other Italian cars down.
I believe there maybe a Ferrari F355 coming along (heard a rumour on the whatsapp group) the usual suspects are meeting at Hedge End Sainsburys Petrol station at 0830hrs for a convoy to The Departure Lounge cafe (anyone welcome to join in). I'm coming down from Swindon so anyone want to meet in Newbury or Basingstoke along the way are more than welcome.

Hopefully we will have good weather, so see you all there.

car prepared today for the meeting. I looked at the forecast and it looks like the weather should be fine. Finger crossed as there is still a week to go.
All clean, polished and sealed ready to meet her sister press car for the first time possibly for the first time ever . I never saw any photos of the two together yet

You've been busy, we'll have to make sure you two park next to each other! Re: weather I hope so but don't tempt fate, can't get an accurate forecast until Thursday!

Hi guys - I met Ross at Autolusso Bournemouth yesterday who let me know about this event. I assume no issues with a 147 joining the mix ? Coming from West Dorset so not sure I can make it to Hedge End by 8:30 but in case I do manage it has anyone got the relevant postcode for the satnav ?

Cheers Brett.

147=Alfa=welcome

I think they meet at Sainsburys in a very precise part of the car park. Steve or Paddy will know the postcode.
