If you're trying to separate the pin on the ball joint from the "pinched" section on the hub carrier you can use a ball joint separator tool like this:

Laser Ball Joint Separate Fork

I use a chisel between top of pin and the upright.

I did this last week. The ball joint is not that tightly wedged in to the hub. The reason you are struggling is that the strut is pushing the hub down and the lower wishbone is pushing the hub up so even if you split it with a fork it wont come out without quite a bit of levering. I undid the two bolts that hold the hub to the upright and this released the tension in the hub and the ball joint separated easily. I also undid the three bolts in the engine bay that hold the strut and removed it out of the way to stop sharp edges from damaging the CV boots but this might be optional.
