Steering rack refit question

I've refitted a steering rack, the photo shows the steering column universal joint in the drivers footwell attached to the steering rack's splined drive.
There are two widths to the steering rack splined shaft. I'm trying to remember if the steering column UJ fits over the wider part (at the bottom) or whether it is as per the photo (& just over the thinner part - hidden from viewIMG_9191.JPG).

Can anyone check theirs! TIA.

Should go down to the other part of the spline and the bolt goes in between the two splines.
