So today nice weather and bit bored thought I'd swap the backs with the fronts and see if that makes any difference to the way it drives (bought the car earlier this year with very little wear on the tyres but two different brands). While the wheels were off and cleaned it is clear that they are in need of a refurb (whilst the front faces are just about presentable, the finish on the backs is badly bubbled. Although I'm drawn to keeping them as stock as possible I may be tempted away to the "dark side" with a colour change, so on the look out for images of P2 Spider alloys in different colours.
The wheel work will ideally be spaced out over the winter months and to keep the car mobile during this time I will put some winter tyres on. So also on the lookout for some P2 gtv 16" rims as I know they will fit and hopefully they are more available than the P2 spider ones.
I can confirm that P2 Spider wheels are of a 'multi-spoke' design and only fitted to Spiders. The GTV wheel was more of a flat design with five holes around it.
My profile pic shows the P2 Spider wheel (I know the pic is small though).
I have got the P3, (or some P3 anyway), double five spoke 17" wheels fitted now.
When I think about it, you are right. I cannot visualise a GTV with P2 "Spider" wheels although they would fit.
They were fitted to both TS and V6 Spiders and that is what was on my car.
I have fitted 17" Teledials on mine because I think they fill the arches that bit better and the ride is only slightly worse. I still have the 16" Spider wheels in the garage!
Ok, now I see what you mean, but while others on this thread have provided 'confirmations' they do not provide any proof that GTV and Spiders have different 'standard' wheels
Decided on staying with original colour and have had a somewhat mad spree on picking up 16" wheels since then. Now have surplus to requirements sitting in the garage the original wheels/tyres that were on the car. They "would do" from a distance, but up close need a refurb.
