Multiecuscan purging air from Bosch 5.3

I have a 2001 GTV 3.0. Using MES, I can connect to the ABS ECU and set and read parameters but cannot perform any of the F6 actuator functions. My friend claims he can and has done so.

Just a short answer needed: can MES operate ABS circuitry on a GTV or not?

The latest vesion (3.2) claims to be able to operate the ABS actuators. I emailed them a while ago and asked them to confirm, they replied but I haven't had a definite yes, from them or any other MES user on the forum. The previous versions could not, even though MES tells you it has worked.

Thanks, Matt. I have 2.9. What I suspected but this is disappointing news since I can't upgrade to 3.2 without paying again. I bought less than 2 years ago. I wonder if they can't fix the module for people who bought earlier versions.

Check out their website. I think you should be able to upgrade for free if you have a valid licence.

The licence is valid forever but you can only update for free for 1 year. I have 2.9 it wouldn't operate ABS on my phase 1 either.

Nice, can you actually hear the actuators operate?

I'm using the free version. I'll reinstall 2.9 when I'm done bleeding.

I'm not having much luck at all connecting to Bosch 5.3 ABS ECU on my CF1 PH2 V6. When I scan no ABS ECU comes up. I'm using Multiecuscan 3.2 registered running on a laptop with Windows 10, KKL modified, KKL switchable, and an unmodified KKL with coloured extensions. I can connect to engine and airbag ECU. Even tried with a free version of Multiecuscan 3.2 on an old laptop running Windows XP, no ABS found when scanning. I'm trying to connect via ECU socket under dashboard below steering wheel, is this the correct socket to connect to ABS ECU?

Use the 1/9 setting on VAG KKL cable to connect to the ABS

I've had to restart the program when I switch between ECUs to get a connection.

Tried that as well, testing the cable via settings beforehand. Connecting to engine and/or airbad ecu is inconsistent. The switchable cable only connects to the airbag if it's on 3 and attached to the short red extension. Same with my modified cable, needs red extension. Engine ecu is better, still on occasions it does not connect. I'm wondering if the battery voltage is critical, it's a few years old. When connected to ecu, battery voltage is showing around 11.7 v, with engine running it goes over 13v. I've also tried straight after a long run with a better battery voltage, still no connection to ABS.
It's so bloody frustrating!

I use the same cable as in post 15 - no extensions needed, just plug it in & switch over to connect. I used mine today with dnecudiag no probs - other than occasional dropping out of connection. I did buy another one of these leads that looked identical but that wouldn't work at all, there's a thread on here somewhere about it.

Strange. Mine connected immediately. I was very pleasantly surprised after struggling with 2.9 and then finding out that only 3.2 works.
