Hmmm Auto unlocking?

I recently took the door card off the passenger door of my 1997 spider, in order to lubricate the window runners. Since replacing it I am unable to lock my car. Everytime I lock it, it unlocks itself. Does anyone have any ideas please? I didn't touch the locking mechanism as far as I am aware.

I think you may have accidentally affected the route of the Bowden cable to the lock when you replaced the door card. Really easy to do...have a search of the forum and you will see lots of others have done the same with advice to sort. Means you have to take the door card off again though.

Top tip for door cards. Un-screw the lock pin and use a drinking straw with a 90 degree bend in it to help guide the lock pin through the door card during re mounting.

Makes the job less frustrating
