V6 pre cat removal gtv

I have a pair of cf2 gtv manifolds. What i would like to know is will they fit my cf3..........easily?
My plan was to get cf2 downpipes with the two bolt manifold flange to match up to the new manifolds but will these bolt onto the existing centre cat or is modification nesessary?
I can't find the answer anywhere and even bent ebspares ear who couldn't be sure either.
The car is a 2001 cf3
Thanks
Tim

I'm no expert but I believe they will fit easily from the point of view of unbolting the old cf3s and bolting on the new cf2s but you've got to have the engine out. Also cf2 down pipes have 2 bolt flanges at the manifold end and 3 bolt flanges at the cat end. Cf3 is the opposite way round so you will need a cf2 cat or a sports or decat compatible with cf2. Pud is the resident expert on here.

I think that any exhaust specialist can switch the flanges and maybe modify the downpipes a bit so it will all fit together. You just have to get the car there somehow Should be interesting driving on roads without exhaust

Thanks
I have been led to believe that the cf2 manifolds are longer and the cf2 downpipes are a different shape to accommodate this. The downpipe for the rear bank has a short elbow in it. As my downpipes are coming to the end of there life i thought it easiest to use cf2 pipes and if they will mate to the middle cat with only a swap of the flanges this I can do if I use mild steel downpipes. I was just hoping it might be easy!

When I replaced the cf3 precats with cf2 manifolds I bought cf2 stainless down pipes from alfaholics but without the rear flange welded on. They supplied cf3 flanges separately so they could be welded to the cf2 downpipes. I got a local garage to trailer the GTV to their work shop to carry out the welding.

This was a few years ago now so it's worth speaking to Dan or a few specialists to see if they have anything off the shelf. There was nothing available when I did the conversion.

Hi Tim, for my 156 GTA I've reworked cf2 manifolds to fit as 1 on 1 replacement for cf3. So with lambda nut welded in. You can use your own front pipes. I've made 2 sets, one for me and one for another 156 GTA driver, who after all decided to not spend money on his daily other than normal maintenance. So I've got a set left, including the cf2 heat shells.

Outside welds made, so inside can be flowed.

I think you might have to change to a sports cat as well. I think it's all the same from there on.
