Brembo Front brake Discs 09.4939.24

Have grown impatient with Eurocarprats et al as they offered a 30% discount a few weeks back and are now not prepared to offer again!?

Did abit of research and keyed in 09.4939.24 for the Brembo discs with UV protection. Sy had recommended that this was the smart choice since my previous discs had failed MOT due to corrosion. Euro were coming in at 64 ish with alfaowner discount, but I do like getting a bargin and a crowd called AutoDoc who I understand are Uk are offering the discs for 49.99.

Looking at the blurb they say that they are for 2002 916 on, mine is a P1(1998) twinspark and I was wondering if this is just misleading nonsense and they will fit my car?

I've been researching discs and pads for my 2001 Ph2 TS and have had the same problem. Some sites say their discs and pads will fit any GTV 1996 to 2004 while others are 2002 to 2004 or other short time periods. Confusing or what?

Hi Nelly, its bloomin annoying. I will sleep on it tonight but I think the key is 284mm discs, so long as they are 284mm I should be alright?

This link shows the potential variants:

Brembo Bremsscheiben - Vorderachse - Alfa Romeo Shop - Tuning, Styling, Fanartikel und Modellautos

If these are the same disks you are contemplating then I would happily recomend them. My GTV is often not used for months and the brakes are spotless. What little corrosion builds up on the friction face is gone in a mile or 2 and the edges are spotless.

That seems to be the case but 2 "heights" of 284mm so take care when ordering.

The 2 sizes are most likely because the early GTV's had Lucas calipers and the later had ATE calipers. I would expect yours to be an ATE caliper car so 284 x 22 x 39.4 mm disks.

FYI, Alfisti.net price disks in pairs so are cheaper than you think but Autodoc seems a little too cheap.

Regarding the height of the 284 mm disc:

43,5 mm (differs a little bit depending on the manufacturer of the disc) fits GTV/Spider TB and Spider 3.0 12V.

39,4 mm (differs a little bit depending on the manufacturer of the disc) fits 2.0 TS and 2.0 JTS.

A 43,5 mm disc does not fit GTV/Spider 2.0 TS, 2.0 JTS.

257/20 mm disc, Spider 2.0TS up to chassis number 6009486 (very early Spider).

Yeah it is confusing, managed to discover that the Brembo discs I listed above will not fit my car. Have now established that the Brembo discs with UV protection I need are 09.5058.21

257mm discs were not fitted to GTV's that came into the UK.
