Advice alfa spider

I have a 2000 W plate ph2 spider in Zoe yellow. She has a fresh Mot for another year.

I have roll hoops fitted along with a genuine alfa boot rack fitted.

My wife is currently pregnant and I have to let the spider go as I have had my fun in her but needs must.

I'm thinking she is worth 1500 but I'm not sure to let her go with the added goodies.

Is she more saleable with the hoops and rack as part of the deal or is it better for me to remove these and sell them separately?

Not sure if the hoops and rack are still desirable or not to my fellow alfa enthusiasts?

Cheers in advance for your thoughts.

It might well be worth selling the boot rack separately as they are quite scarce - see here for example:-

http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...boot-rack.html (Looking for a spider boot rack.)

Zoe yellow is a sought after colour and may attract a premium - have a read here:-

http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...oe-yellow.html (gtv / spider zoe yellow.................)

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I assume the hoops make the rear storage awkward to use? Personally I'd try to sell without then you won't put anyone off, biggest market = best price.
I'd not often talk anyone up on price but if it's any good (and you're selling with a full mot) then you'd hope 2k would be achievable.
Then you could get 150 for the hoops/ rack

"..along with an Alfa boot rack.."

There right there, baby on the boot. Keep the car, job done.

Seriously, take the boot rack off, great for long trips but look **** on the car when empty anyway. As they are rare you could sell it here or eBay.

Hoops, that's a tricky one I agree with above that you should offer the hoops for extra. I looked for them for ages and ended up buying MX5 hoops but with all the will in the world (well actually none) I never bothered to make them fit. I just bought a wind breaker and sold the MX5 hoops to an MX5 owner . I'd love a set on ours and think unlike the boot rack, they look superb especially in chrome or shiny ally.
As for the price, I have no idea as they appear to be allover the place. Zoe yellow though do seem to command a premium.

Priorities I find, are usually someone else's.
Statements above are all my own opinion and not fact.

Offer a price with and a price without I would say. If somebody likes the car with then you won't have to do 2 or 3 different ads. 1500 is too cheap IMO but depends how quick you want to sell I suppose.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that rack on the wrong way round? shouldn't the ridge be at the back to stop luggage sliding off the back?
I would love to have had that rack, but I need one next week, so bought one off the bay.
By the way, 1500 quid is way too cheap...It needs to certainly be 2,500 IMHO.(unless there is something we don't know).

Ah the old what way around does the rack go debate!

They way I see it is. If something falls off the back that's my fault and it's down to inproper securing on my part.

If I'm in an accident I would prefer the luggage behind to have some form of barrier between it and me hence why I think the bar goes at the front.

Nothing bad to report about the car. It need a new front right tyre though as the one that is on is right on the limit (it did pass an mot with it though)

I think the consensus is 1500 is too cheap. 2500 is more of the price it should be unless it needs lots of work and the paintwork is poor. I'd sell the boot rack separately, it is the wrong way round for suitcases, the idea of the raised support bar is to stop cases falling off as said by Verbout. Sad you have to sell, but if you need to sell, do it now as that's when people look for a convertable. There aren't many spiders for sale and she looks nice enough.Good luck.

I think in a front end collision the least of your problems is a suitcase coming over the roof of your car. Anyway it shouldn't come off because you've secured it properly

As is my wont

I never said it was wrong, I just questioned as HG did, if it was right. I can definitely say, I couldn't care either way

Well folks the spider sold today with both the rack and the hoops. She went to an alfa fan who I hope enjoyed her. I ended getting more for her than I originally thought. Thanks for all the advice and I shall pop back for a look in here from time to time.
