Spider, 02 Hydralic pump cost and how !!

Hi there,

Just had my Spider in the garage for a little leak issue, and whilst it was in informed them the roof dosnt raise or lower as it should. Just been informed that the hydralic pump is knackerd and upon enquiry on replacement cost I was staggered to learn its nearly 3K. My quesition to anyone on here is there a place who would refurbish old unit, as it a bit pish to have an electric roof soft top that dosnt do what it should do. Now is the time to do it over winter so please help I am gutted !!

A breakers perhaps? but I would get a second opinion they are very susceptable to not working if fluid levels are too low, there are also a herd of micro switches that might be playiing up.

I'd hazard a guess that the thing can be reconditioned and it probably wouldn't immobilise the car while it's done. Heck, it may be dirt, sticky valves or any sorts of easily sorted issue. Or even low level of fluid, perhaps check that first?

I have the same problem. My soft top cover will not lift up. How can I check the fluid level?
