Re: Calling All GTV Cup Owners...

What it's got no engine or the one in it's knackered

Seriously mate if it has the original engine no matter what the cost keep it in the car that Cup you're about to buy is a future Classic and matching engine and chassis numbers are important

What number is she ?

A high milage engine isn't a problem if its been well maintained my Cup had nearly 90K on the clock when I traded her and she was running sweet as a nut

F**ck! I did not notice that the first time round!

Are you sure it's no 74?
Are you sure it's only had one owner from new?

If the answer to both of these questions is yes, then steer clear.

I went to see number 74 November last year, it had 5 owners on the book. It was also very, very dodgy, and I therefore turned it down. The car itself was not so bad, but the history around it was suspect and put me off.

CHECK it's only had one owner. Do an HPI check, they're a fiver on the RAC website.

I don't want to go into details unless you can confirm that.

Is it a guy called Nick selling it?

For sure. That's why I suggested he should check the number of owners.

I tried PM'ing him, as he's going to go and see the car this afternoon and he should check it out before then, but his inbox is full.

EDIT - Panic over. Just found the advert on Trader, it's number 76 not number 74. He thought it was 74 then went and checked. I got the plate and it's not the same one.

Only1ian, ignore my last few posts as it's not the car I thought. Bloody good price though! If all is in working order you're getting a bargain!

Wow. That's someone who's just checked Parkers price guide or something, rather than seeing what they really go for. If that was near me I'd buy it.

Re: Calling All GTV Cup Owners...

right all! Sorry for the panic over the cup numbers! She is number 76 with 106565 miles on the clock. She's got afew mostly cosmetic issues (door cards) cracked front splitter and a small dent on the door, air bag light. But she's got a full service history from Perry's Aylesbury, runs sweet and im genuinely a very happy bunny. What a steal! They didn't appreciate that cups comanded a premium and just thought it was a standard v6 with a bodykit and high millage.

Gentlemen and ladys cup 76 is back in the fold and will have lots of love and attention showered on her! I'll keep you all posted....

Well done Ian, what a great price! 106k? Someone's been enjoying her!

Get her back into top notch condition, and she'll be great. Pics, pics, pics!

Same, I went down and met some guy called Nic...car was suspect, would expect better conition, lost of previous owners and under the rear bumper some of the mounts were bent and the bumper not straight so suspected a rear ending...and from the car too.

A long drive wasted, thankfully i found no 25 and she was perfect

Steer clear of 74, probably ok but didnt feel right and he wanted too much cash for it...was a good while ago so probably sold now.
