Roof Actuator Motor wanted - even a broken one..

The spindle has sheared on my roof actuator motor (on the rear bulkhead in the storage are) the gear teeth are fine but the spindle has sheared and seems to be made of silly putty!

Does anyone have one lying around - I'm willing to pay a frankly ridiculous amount of money for it as it's my wife's car and the peace & quiet it'll bring is priceless!

Don't think you want my broken motor, its got the same issue as yours.

I fitted an uprated cog, and then the spindle sheared, I got my student Blacksmith Artist son to get his tutor to weld it back together. In the meantime the spindle from my 'spares' car was fitted, which also promptly sheared. The repaired spindle has now been working ok in the car for over a year.

A friendly local car repairer/ engineneet/ fabricator should be able to weld yours, probably cheaper than buying a whole motor.

Was the uprated cog one of those nylon ones?

I was wondering if anyone had any cad drawings of it already or could do one of the original plastic gear?

Sounds like alfa designed it so that the plastic cog would break instead of the spindle. If the cogs were available cheaply then you could just keep a couple in the cubby for when one broke the next time
