small first exhaust box

I have an autodelta rear exhaust section on my 1999 gtv TS which replaces the rear box and one of the two centre boxes. i have noticed that the small first box after the cat is rusted and looks like it will need replacing soon. if i replace this small box with a raggazzon straight pipe would it be too loud?

cheers

Noo - Autodelta sell a complete straight pipe kit anyway? Should sound sweeet!

Maximum is 96 decibels at tick over as I am aware - I doubt they will test it anyway!? I was driving around in my Alfasud with a tasty straight pipe exhaust at Goodwood with the Lancia club strangely - on driveby they tested me and found to be 101Db and that was with my high lifting 1350cc boxer engine on 36 Delorttos and standard airbox, before I change it for an 8v 1751cc boxer on Twin 40 Delorttos and 6" Volocity stacks and socks and side exit straight pipe with no mufflers. Goodwood only had planning permission for 104db unless the Maserati club were out on track racing who had exemption.

If an AC Cobra with a big clumsy V8 with side pipes can pass - I am sure an Alfa GTV with a straight pipe can

Alfa Autumn Blast! Zig Zag 2. - YouTube - mine was third down hill and the famous alpine road Zig Zags in Shaftsbury - this was my little 1351cc engine and Ansa exhaust not side exit straight pipe.

Yeeeeahhhhhh Kevin... To the Rat Mobile....

exhaust

I have the autodelta rear section on the car which replaces the last 2 boxes for the last 2 years and it sounds good but was wondering if i replaced the small box with a straight pipe would it be too loud. I don't know why the gtv has 4 boxes on the standard exhaust system. Might give it a go and see
cheers

I don't know why the exhaust is so complicated under this car. Should sound really horny with straight pipe

I have ordered the small ragazzon pipe that replaces the small box after cat so all I will have after the cat is one mid section Standard box on the system. Hope it's not too loud.

Maybe it’s an age thing but for me it was a bit too loud, tried it for a while but now have the small box (after cat) and rear box back on, have left the transverse box off.
Try it and see what you think, it will be loud but its a great Alfa loud sound and i have to admit it had a certain appeal!!!
