Warning Overheating - not engine I think

Hey guys

Have checked a few threads and nothing seems like my "issue"

Did a long drive last weekend ( 120 miles on motorway ) and noticed that the floor area got very warm, when I arrived at my destination the alloys and boot floor were hot to touch

Engine temp stayed around 90 until I hit a city where it went up

Cambelt and full service was just done, any ideas.?

Hot alloys - Brakes? Boot floor - Exhaust? Engine Temp going above 90o - Engine fans not working.

When you drive a car the exhaust and brakes do get hot ....

Jack up and spin the wheels to see if the brakes are binding. The calipers do need cleaning and freeing - ideally every service.

Most of the underside is protected from the exhaust by a sheet metal heat shield - is this missing under the boot, do you have a non-standard exhaust that is routed differently?

When you finish a long drive compare the temperature of left and right alloy wheel. If one is much hotter then that brake is binding

Mine always use to get alot hotter around gearchange area with sunroof open, assume it was some sort of venturi effect pulling exhaust heat into gearbox "tunnel"
