Front splitter? or what to make one from..

Hello all

Part of the front splitter is missing from my V6 and i've been trying with no luck to find a replacement.

The other option i thought was to make one to the same dimensions!

I've been looking at Demon tweeks and Merlin etc and they sell carbon sheet but does anyone know if that would be suitable? Any racers out there that would know?

My main concern was whether the thin stuff would be rigid enough or too brittle - and then how easy is it to cut?

Any help much appreciated!

And of course if anyone has a splitter going spare........

Some have used Seat Cupra splitters instead

e.g.

Thanks pkr - i did see that thread before but before Icemans post. I'll try Bishops as they're also the nearest dealer to me. Steep for the original part though! I'm not so keen on the Cupra splitter tbh. hmmmmmmm, might still be worth playing with some carbon sheet for £40 or thereabouts!

If you create a part with 3 layers of carbon it will be quite strong but will crack if you hit a kerb

That was my worry, however you can get very thin carbon sheet (that normally has a self-adhesive backing) I'm trying to work out if it's rigid enough to hold a shape but also flexible enough to bend if it hits anything. Will speak to Demon Tweeks tomorrow and report! Otherwise it may be just as cost-effective to order one from the stealers.

Yes that sheet is just for giving a carbon look?

What will you stick it to?
