3.2 GTV for sale in classifieds....

Having sworn blind that it wouldn't go for less than the asking price; I have now reduced the price

Alfa Romeo Classifieds - Auctions - Alfa Romeo GTV 3.2 Q2 (2003) - Powered by PhotoPost Classifieds

This is actually just below what I bought it for in April, so whoever buys it will be getting a bargain.

Could probably hold out for more but frankly I don't have the patience!

Beautiful. I wish I could afford it. Best of luck, who ever buys her will be getting a real steal.

You're not kidding.....

How to blow 3 grand in 3 months in 5 easy steps:

1)Buy GTV 3.2, probably for a bit more than you should have done, but get bewitched by engine noise and the chrome engine bay and nice seller. Ignore the slight problem that your 6ft 4 and don't really fit.

2) Immediately take it to Autolusso and spend £2900, high on the knowledge that the car you bought is a keeper and probably one of the best GTV's out there.

3) Take it home

4) Somehow manage to not drive it much for the best part of 3 months; but wash and wax it at least half a dozen times (and I HATE washing cars!!)

5) Try and sell it at a time when the economy is on its knees and theres a glut of GTA's and GTVs on the market

A few other bits and pieces.

The logic was: I'm going to keep the car for 3 years and I'm probably going to have to get it all done anyway, so I'll get it all done whilst the engines out.

Obviously 3 months on I will admit this logic was slightly flawed.

Absolutely stunning car! It should fly at that price and in light of what you've had done......problem being is that people expect you to give it away in the current climate. The only thing that might put some off is that whopping 3.2 litre engine, it's not the sort of car to just amble around in,it's a driver's car. Just out of curiosity what is the insurance like on a vehicle like that? Good luck with the sale....

Swiss.

Not drunk, I think you were just taking good care of a fantastic motor. Hope you get a decent share of your money back. One things for certain, the future owner is getting a belter of a motor.

I had some mental quotes, one from Direct Line for 2 grand!

However, in the end the best quote by far was Chris Knott and was about 550 quid for the year.

I'd say its 90% not driving it and 10% other things which include it not being that comfortable.

At the end of the day, although I've spent alot of money on it and its in mint condition if its not being driven then its pointless having it.

Just take it out at the weekend? Surely you're going to want a car in one form or another? If you're just looking for a little more room to fit in, look into modifying the seat to get it lower and/or get used to driving with the seat 1 notch more reclined?

Although I like driving mine, if I could garage it in the week it'd give me a chance to get on top of everything and make it perfect. Driving it a lot means that I'm always playing catch up.

Tell you what, knock that zero off the end of the price and I'll have it tomorrow and - in return for your generosity - will allow you to pop over and wash it whenever you want. And even drive it from time to time.

I'm getting the train into work; I expected to hate this but its actually proven to be more reliable (the motorway I use was always getting blocked), quicker, cheaper, and less hassle all round. I never thought I'd say that about public transport.

My seat doesn't have spacers and I've already taken the sun visors off so I can see out. Me being tall isn't really that big a deal though; its not like I'm driving up and down the country in it.

If I had a useable garage then I'd be less inclined to sell; but as I don't its sat either on my drive or out the front of my house on the road.

The best drives I've had in it have usually been on a Sunday morning or late at night where you can use the engines power and hear that glorious Busso wail. Then it makes sense for me to have it and I forget about selling and remember that its probably got one of the best engines sensible money can buy and is one of the best Alfa Romeo GTV's out there.

But since I've bought it I think I've probably had 2 Sundays available to do that

I'm tempted....but I think Northampton might be just a bit too far.

Thanks though

Don't bother selling it, Just keep it, I had an Immaculate race spec'd TL1000RW bike, sold it for cheap as I wanted to get rid of it ASAP, I've missed it ever since, Not only for the sheer power, but also the fact that I sold it at a loss, GTV's are Toys, Toys get put back in the box for the next time to be played with, Doesn't meen they have to be thrown out or given away
In years to come, you'll be moaning to your friends in the retirement home about how you got rid of that 3.2 Busso!!!

You've just been done by a Twinny!

A rare car indeed, at least 3 of the UK cars, if they still exist, are (or were) utter sheds, as I looked at them years ago.

So it's one of a maximum of 53 tidy examples

Sigh, Just checked my emails and another email scamster trying to 'buy' my car.

Check this one out: it made me laugh

Hi,
Thanks for the prompt response.. I am ready to buying it now as a for
birthday gift for Son. I am at sea at the moment as I am a
marine engineer and due to the nature of my work, phone call making
and visiting of website are restricted but I just have to squeezed out
time to check this advert and send you an email regarding it. I really
want the car to be a surprise package for son so I wont let
him know anything about the car until it gets delivered to him, I am
sure he will be more than happy with the car. I insisted on PayPal as
my mode of payment because I don't have access to my bank account
online and also, I don't have internet banking, but I can pay from my
PayPal account. I have my bank account attached to my PayPal account,
so I will need you to give me your PayPal email address and your final
price so I can make the payments asap for the car and please if you
don't have a PayPal account yet, it is very easy to set up, go to
www.paypal.com and get it set up, after you have set it up I will only
need the e-mail address you use for the registration with PayPal so as
to put the money through. I have a pick up agent that will come and
pick the car up after I have made the payments for the car...

My Regards.

Mary Campbell

Somehow Mary, I'll not be taking you up on your offer
